Kenowa Hills High School NHS Students Serve at Kids’ Food Basket
Our Kenowa Hills High School National Honor Society students visited Kids’ Food Basket this week and helped package meals for children in our community. Kids’ Food Basket works collaboratively to meet the needs of every child and family they serve, striving to create a hunger-free West Michigan in a way that reflects the experiences, strengths, and passion of our local community. A huge thank-you to our NHS advisors, Allie Hughes and Vicki Bekins, for the incredible work they do in leading this dedicated group of students and modeling what true community service looks like. We are proud of their leadership and of the students’ commitment to making a difference. Below are some photos from the day!
Mr. Vanderheide Receives $1,000 (Thanks)Giving Grant from NT4Kindness
Mr. Vanderheide was awarded $1,000 for his classroom after a parent nominated him for a (Thanks)Giving Grant through NT4Kindness. Their mission is rooted in Noah’s spirit of kindness, and that spirit was felt as several NT4Kindness board members walked into Kenowa Hills to surprise him with this special recognition. Through the Knight L.I.F.E. Program (Leadership, Innovation, Future, Education), Mr. Vanderheide creates an environment where students develop emotional intelligence, feel supported, and strengthen their sense of connection. His classroom promotes teamwork, peer support, respect, and meaningful conversations about wellbeing — all within a space where students feel safe, valued, and seen. The parent who nominated him shared how his class has helped their child, along with many others, navigate difficult moments, build coping skills, and grow in confidence. What stood out most was this: Mr. Vanderheide doesn’t just teach — he truly cares. And students feel that every single day. And in the most perfect Thanksgiving twist… he happened to be dressed as a turkey when the surprise moment happened! It couldn’t have been planned better. Congratulations, Mr. Vanderheide! Thank you for pouring your heart into the students of Kenowa Hills and for making kindness a part of everyday life. 💛 Kind Kids. Kind Schools. Kind Communities.

New Raptor Visitor Management System
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing safe and secure learning environments, we are excited to announce the implementation of the Raptor Visitor Management System beginning this school year. This new system will replace our traditional paper sign-in process and provide a more effective way to monitor and track visitors, volunteers, and guests on campus.
When visiting our school, guests will check in at the front office by presenting a government-issued photo ID. The Raptor system will:
For those wishing to volunteer, please remember that a district background check is required annually in addition to the Raptor sign-in process. To begin this step, simply bring your photo ID to the front office.
We appreciate your support in helping us strengthen campus safety. With your partnership, we can ensure a safe learning environment for every student.
Nothing is more precious than your children. Find out how we work to ensure students feel safe, valued, and that they belong.

TRANSPORTATION BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CAREOur Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without an understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.
