March is Reading Month
March is Reading Month! Here’s an easy way to help your child practice reading at home: 1. Choose a book (or a few pages) that is a good fit for your child’s reading level. 2. Model read- read the text aloud first so your child can hear how the words should sound. 3. Echo read – read one line and have your child repeat the same line back to you. 4. Choral read – read the text together at the same time. 5. Partner read – take turns reading. You read one line, then your child reads the next line. 6. Performance – ask your child to read the page or book independently.
